Enjoy canoeing and kayaking on a pristine public lake, just 15 minutes from Lakewood Lodge. We moor canoes and kayaks at Lake Belmont, which is a 173 acre, PA Fish & Boat Commission operated public lake. We get you ready inside the old Lakewood Railroad Station, located directly across the street from the Lodge. There we fit you with a life vest and paddles. Once you’re equipped, we provide you directions and a key to unlock the canoes and kayaks. Belmont Lake also has a nice hiking trail, where you can hike from the parking lot to the breast of the dam, on the outlet end of the Lake. The boat launch makes getting watercraft in the water relatively easy. There’s a public, outdoor restroom, and plenty of space to paddle and explore. If also fishing, anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish including Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Muskie, Walleye and Yellow Perch. If you’d like to learn more, including how to make a reservation to paddle, please click to our sister website: www.lakewoodoutdooradventures.com Or, you’re welcome to call with any questions: 570-798-2565. We also offer picnic lunches from the Lodge, if you’d like to make a day of it, with lunch. If you’d like to make a weekend of this and other area activities, see our Rooms and Cottage pages.
